Kantha Work Handloom Saree

This Linen Saree is woven on a traditional loom in Bhagalpur. Both the warp and weft are Linen yarn and made stunning with Jacquard weaving Design. The Linen fibre is extracted from the flax plant. The flax plant is known for its strength and durability, when woven into fabric. The flax plant uses very little resources to be grown unlike the cotton plant and is also naturally biodegradable. Hence, the linen fabric is long lasting and reduces waste.

Kantha work is a patchwork art craft, that basically uses various running stich embroidery. This is the oldest form of embroidery in India that originated in West Bengal.
