The colour

Cyan is the brightest blue we print on, and cream sits on it without going grey the way white sometimes does. The leaf is small and closely spaced on the main piece, easing to a moderate repeat on the second, so the two read as a pair without being identical.

The decorative band at the edge finishes in a fringe, which means the dupatta is wearable straight off the roll.

Wearing it

A shade this clear is best kept uncomplicated. Straight kurta, three-quarter sleeve, and either pearl or plain gold studs. It carries daylight functions and daytime weddings well, and works just as easily as office wear on a plain day.

1. Is the fabric see-through in such a bright shade?
No. The silk is opaque and needs no lining or aster underneath. A lining is optional and only worth adding if you want a heavier, more structured fall to the kurta.

2. How do I know the print is done by hand and not by machine?
Look along the repeat. Hand block printing leaves small register shifts where one block meets the next, and slight variation in how much colour each impression carries. A screen or machine print repeats identically every time; this one does not.

3. Will the colours bleed when I wash it?
No. The fabric is colour-fast and does not bleed on the first wash. Dry clean it the first time to settle the finish, then a gentle cold hand wash is enough.

4. What does this unstitched set include?
