Magenta pink, deep violet pallu
A lit magenta pink body with flower buti through it, colour-blocked against a deep violet pallu that pulls the whole drape darker.
The design
Flower buti sit across the magenta with a softer pink in the border work. The violet pallu is banded in metallic gold and carries the motif at a larger scale. A double design zari border, two parallel patterns, runs the length of both edges. The bugdi border is woven so that its design reads the same on both faces.
How it is woven
Handwoven on a pit loom in Maheshwar, Khargone district, Madhya Pradesh, with the weft inserted by hand and the border set on a dobby.
