Purple Cotton Kota Doria Saree, Floral Vine | Gulbadan
A soft purple with a running floral vine for celebrations.
Direct from master artisan Haq Nawaz, Kota — the vine worked in his unit.
A floral vine runs the edge of a soft purple Kota Doria cotton, florals scattered across the body.
Why this piece
Light and semi-sheer — the open cotton weave stays cool and near-weightless; wear it over a petticoat with a fitted blouse for full cover.
Vine and scatter — a floral vine runs parallel to the edge while individual florals disperse across the purple body.
Soft and dressed-up — purple with pink, blue and green notes, easy for celebrations.
The pattern
A floral vine runs in a straight line parallel to the edge of the soft purple body, with individual florals scattered across the field and small notes of pink, blue and green. The vine gives it a gentle structure.
The fabric
Kota Doria is a cotton khat weave of tiny square checks you can see against the light. It is semi-sheer by nature, which keeps it cool for summer and daytime celebrations.

Is this Kota Doria all cotton?
Yes — cotton in the open khat (square-check) weave. That open weave is what keeps this purple piece light, semi-sheer and breathable.
What is the border like?
A straight edge with a floral vine running parallel to it, with individual florals scattered across the body.
How sheer is it, and how should I pair it?
It is semi-sheer, as cotton Kota Doria is. Wear it over a petticoat with a fitted blouse; a purple or skin-tone petticoat keeps the ground even.
Does it come with a blouse piece, and how do I wash it?
Yes, an unstitched blouse piece is included. Handwash gently in cold water and dry in shade; the embroidery holds best with gentle care.
