The print

The three pieces are treated differently. The top carries a high-density botanical repeat, the bottom is left plain, and the dupatta takes a longitudinal border of repeating motifs running down its length rather than across its end.

A lengthwise border is unusual and it changes how the dupatta drapes: the band stays visible down the front instead of disappearing at the shoulder.

Wearing it

A plain bottom with a printed top is the easiest set to stitch and the easiest to wear. Magenta with cream suits gold jewellery and daytime light; it holds a festive occasion and an ordinary office day equally.

Is the fabric thick enough to wear without a lining?
Yes. The silk is opaque and needs no lining or aster, in this shade or any other. A lining is optional and only adds a heavier, more structured fall if you want one.

How do I know the print is done by hand and not by machine?
Look along the repeat. Hand block printing leaves small register shifts where one block meets the next, and slight variation in how much colour each impression carries. A screen or machine print repeats identically every time; this one does not.

Will the colours bleed when I wash it?
No. The fabric is colour-fast and does not bleed on the first wash. Dry clean it the first time to settle the finish, then a gentle cold hand wash is enough.

What does this unstitched set include?
Three pieces: a 2.5 m top and a 2.5 m bottom, both 44 to 45 inches wide, and a 2.5 m dupatta 35 to 36 inches wide. Nothing is stitched, so your tailor cuts the silhouette you want.

Is there enough fabric for a larger size?
Yes. With 2.5 m in each piece the set can be stitched up to 4XL, and the length can be customised for a longer kurta or fuller silhouette.

What if the shade or the quality is not what I hoped?
An exchange is available if the shade or the quality is not loved. Screens do render colour differently, so a small variation between the photograph and the cloth is normal.
