Orange Cotton Kota Doria Saree, Tonal Motifs | Kislay
A deep red-orange in tone-on-tone motifs, for festive days.
Direct from master artisan Haq Nawaz, Kota — motifs worked in his unit.
Tone-on-tone motifs run all over a deep red-orange Kota Doria cotton.
Why this piece
Light and semi-sheer — the open cotton weave stays cool and near-weightless; wear it over a petticoat with a fitted blouse for full cover.
Tone-on-tone — large leaf motifs in a matching tone give the orange texture without a second colour fighting it.
Made for festive days — dressy enough for family celebrations, light enough to wear all day.
The pattern
Large leaf motifs repeat all over the deep red-orange body in a matching tone, with a light-orange note and a narrow band along the edge. The tone-on-tone work gives depth without breaking the colour.
The fabric
Kota Doria is a cotton khat weave of tiny square checks you can see against the light. It is semi-sheer by nature, which keeps it light for Rajasthan summers and daytime functions.

Is this Kota Doria all cotton?
Yes — cotton in the open khat (square-check) weave. That open weave is what keeps this orange piece light, semi-sheer and breathable.
Is there a second colour in the pattern?
No — the leaf motifs are tone-on-tone, in a matching shade of the orange, with just a light-orange note and a narrow edge band.
How sheer is it, and how should I pair it?
It is semi-sheer, as cotton Kota Doria is. Wear it over a petticoat with a fitted blouse; a orange or skin-tone petticoat keeps the ground even.
Does it come with a blouse piece, and how do I wash it?
Yes, an unstitched blouse piece is included. Handwash gently in cold water and dry in shade; the embroidery holds best with gentle care.
