The colour

Cyan is the brightest blue we print on, and cream sits on it without going grey the way white sometimes does. The leaf is small and closely spaced on the main piece, easing to a moderate repeat on the second, so the two read as a pair without being identical.

The decorative band at the edge finishes in a fringe, which means the dupatta is wearable straight off the roll.

Wearing it

A shade this clear is best kept uncomplicated. Straight kurta, three-quarter sleeve, and either pearl or plain gold studs. It carries daylight functions and daytime weddings well, and works just as easily as office wear on a plain day.

The difference from a marketplace cotton in the same brightness is drape: silk falls in a longer line and takes light along the fold, which is what makes the colour look expensive.
